And just like that, it’s been almost two years since I’ve posted. It seems impossible to me that it’s been so long. It has been a strange, difficult 22 months since I last wrote, with enough going on personally, nationally, and globally to fill many pages. And maybe that’s why I hit the pause button… so much to talk about and so much talking. I got tired. Maybe I’ll get into the last two years at some point…
But I’m writing now looking forward, not back. My stake presidency recently asked me to teach a stake-wide class addressing difficult gospel topics and I am hoping to document a bit of the “behind the scenes” process and some of my experience here. Teaching this class is an exciting opportunity, and also one that has provided plenty of anxiety. I’m not actually that nervous about the topics themselves; I’ve addressed them head on in a few different contexts over the years. But I worry a lot about getting things “right” when I teach and making sure whatever I’m doing is proving beneficial to my students. And this is a case where getting it right and producing value are no easy task. Wish me luck!
I’M SURE YOU’LL GET PLENTY OF THINGS “RIGHT” AND WILL PROVIDE US WITH MUCH THAT’S BENEFICIAL. WE’RE LOOKING FORWARD TO YOUR NEXT CLASS, SINCE WE WEREN’T ABLE TO EXPERIENCE THE FIRST ONE.
